Teen motorcyclist dies after crash with car on N Westcliff Rd in Odessa
ECTOR COUNTY, TX — A 15-year-old boy died last Saturday night after his motorcycle collided with a car near west Odessa, reports Odessa American.
The fatal accident occurred near the corner of North Westcliff Road and West Westfield Drive at about 8:47 p.m.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the teen was riding a 1991 Kawasaki 240 southbound while a 48-year-old man was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Malibu in the same direction. As both approached the intersection, the Malibu started to turn left onto Westfield at the same time the motorcyclist tried to pass on the left, causing a crash.
The young rider died from his injuries at the scene, confirmed authorities. DPS noted he was wearing a helmet at the time.
