Pedestrian killed by hit-and-run motorcyclist in El Paso’s Lower Valley
EL PASO, TX — A 50-year-old man died early Monday after being struck by a motorcycle while walking on a road in El Paso’s Lower Valley, reports El Paso Times.
The fatal incident occurred in the 7100 block of Chino Drive, off Hawkins Boulevard, at around 12:30 a.m.
According to El Paso police, the man was walking on the road when he was hit by a 2004 Yamaha Road Star motorcycle driven by a 45-year-old man.
It was unclear whether the pedestrian died from his injuries at the scene or at a hospital.
Authorities said the motorcyclist attempted to flee the scene on foot but was located by officers a fourth of a mile away.
The rider was then transported to a local hospital with undisclosed injuries. He is expected to be booked into the El Paso County Jail charged with accident involving death.
