Pedestrian fatally hit by pickup truck on I-10 in east El Paso
EL PASO, TX — A man died Wednesday night after being struck by a driver while walking across Interstate 10 in east El Paso, reports KTSM.
The fatal incident occurred on the eastbound interstate near Giles Road, in the Ranchland East area, at around 9:40 p.m.
According to the El Paso Police Department, the male pedestrian was crossing the freeway when he was hit by a 2007 pickup truck.
The victim died from his injuries at the scene.
Officials said the driver, a 55-year-old man, remained at the scene and alerted police.
No further information has been shared at this time. An investigation by the EPPD’s Special Traffic Investigations (STI) unit was underway.
