Motorcyclist fatally injured in crash with driver near central El Paso

EL PASO, TX — A 59-year-old man died last Saturday after his motorcycle was struck by a car in central El Paso’s Washington Park area, reports KTSM.

The fatal incident occurred in the 4000 block of Alameda Avenue, near Gateway North Boulevard, on May 14.

According to El Paso Police, a 25-year-old woman was driving westbound in a Toyota Corolla at the same time the victim was riding eastbound on the road. The female driver failed to yield to the right of way of oncoming traffic as she turned left. Moments later, she hit the rider.

Authorities said the victim was ejected from his bike in the crash and came to rest on the sidewalk. Medics rushed him to University Medical Center, where he was later died from his injuries.

At this time, officials have not reported any pending charges.

An investigation by EPPD’s Special Traffic Investigations Unit was underway.
