Girl, 14, dead after Midland car-pedestrian crash

MIDLAND, TX – A pedestrian succumbed to fatal injuries after getting struck by a car on Sunday, Jan. 1. 

The incident happened before 6:30 p.m. on the 5500 block of Magellan St., News West 9 reported. 

The 14-year-old girl was riding an electric skateboard when she was hit by a car while crossing the intersection at Magellan Street and Mockingbird Lane. 

The driver was traveling west on Mockingbird Lane and remained at the scene. He or she will not be facing charges. 

The teenage girl was taken to a hospital, where she later died.
