Driver killed in rollover crash on SH-158 near Garden City
GLASSCOCK COUNTY, TX — A 66-year-old Big Spring man died Thursday in a rollover collision on Texas State Highway 158 near Garden City, reports Your Basin.
The fatal accident occurred near mile marker 306, around 16 miles southeast of Midland.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), the man was driving westbound on the highway when his vehicle’s front-left tire blew out. Moments later, the vehicle traveled into the eastbound lanes, continued south off the highway, and overturned into a nearby field.
Officials confirmed the man died from his injuries at the scene. The DPS report indicates the victim was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
No other injuries were reported and no other vehicles were involved.
