MONAHANS, TX – A woman was killed when her vehicle was struck by a semi-truck in the Monahans area on Monday morning.

According to CBS 7, the 74-year-old Frankie Weaks ran the stop sign at the intersection of Ike Avenue and the I-20 frontage road when her vehicle jumped the safety cable and landed on the freeway. Her vehicle was then struck by the oncoming tractor-trailer.

Weaks suffered fatal injuries in the crash.

The semi-truck caught fire in the roadway. Fortunately, the driver was able to escape without injury.
